The Haywood County Arts Council (HCAC) announces its new exhibit, In The Company of Animals, which opens July 5 and will run through July 27.

The show features a diverse collection of animal-themed artworks created by local artists to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the creatures who share our world. Subjects range from salamanders to peacocks to Bengal tigers. There are more than 40 original works of art for sale, including paintings, photographs and ceramic pieces.

Leigh Forrester, HCAC Executive Director notes, “The artists represented in this show have really captured something special we can all relate to. There are so many ways of expressing the richness of the animal world, from the dramatic to the whimsical. In The Company of Animals is an exhibit that will delight people of all ages.”

In The Company of Animals is a great reason to visit HCAC’s Gallery & Gifts this month. Here’s another: an exceptional selection of retail offerings. Enjoy a leisurely browse through jewelry, pottery, paintings, photography, glassworks, prints and cards. It’s very rewarding to shop for a gift that is a work of art, while supporting artists who live and work right here in Western North Carolina.
