Waynesville's movie theater, Smoky Mountain Cinema, is open and showing movies for families to enjoy.

The theater, located at 235 Waynesville Plaza, is currently showing Tom & Jerry The Movie and Raya and the Last Dragon.

Tom & Jerry will be showing at 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, March 19, and again at 1:45 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21.

In Tom & Jerry, A legendary rivalry reemerges when Jerry moves into New York City's finest hotel on the eve of the wedding of the century, forcing the desperate event planner to hire Tom to get rid of him. As mayhem ensues, the escalating cat-and-mouse battle soon threatens to destroy her career, the wedding, and possibly the hotel itself.

Raya and the Last Dragon is playing at 1:45 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, March 19, and again at 1:45 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21.

Raya and the Last Dragon begins its story long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. However, when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned, and it's up to a lone warrior to track down the last dragon and stop the Druun for good.

In addition to showing movies, Smoky Mountain Cinema is offering movie theater rentals to celebrate birthdays or any kind of parties, open to as many as 60 guests at a time.
