MAGGIE VALLEY — The long-running and epicly popular Country Western Show put on by Tuscola High School Summit Choir will move outdoors this year, at 7:30 pm. May 21 and 22 at Maggie Valley Festival Grounds.
“This is a 39-year-old tradition,” Brown said. “Of course, we didn’t get to have it last year so this year is super special,” said director Martha Brown. “This year’s show includes a little bit of everything — from modern and old country, and comedy here and there.”
Students will perform solo, duets and in small groups — along with full chorus numbers — to this year’s theme is “Down in the Boondocks.”
Students who were seniors last year and didn’t get to perform have been invited back as the emcees.
Guests can expect to hear songs by the Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert among others.
The concert will be a drive-in style show.
“I’m just so grateful and excited to do the show,” Brown said. “The kids have worked super hard and sound amazing.”
Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets can be purchased at Tuscola High School, from any chorus student or by calling 828-456-2408. Located at 3374 Soco Road, Maggie Valley.
