The temperatures may cool off in the winter months in Maggie Valley, but there is still plenty to do.

Starting off our winter activities and running through mid-March, Maggie Valley will be decked out with skis and snowboards placed along Soco Road.

Local artists have hand painted winter-themed scenes on approximately 60 pairs of 8-foot skis as well. These are on display at local businesses.

Join in Lighting Up Maggie Valley festivities on Saturday, Nov. 30 for a day-long and early evening festival event the Saturday after Thanksgiving to celebrate the official beginning of the the Winter Season. The celebrations will take place at Maggie Valley Town Hall, located at 3987 Soco Road in Maggie Valley.

A fun-filled day with Pictures with Santa, Holiday Music, Hot Chocolate/Coffee, ending with a community sing around a Christmas Tree and the “lighting up of Maggie Valley” as our iconic Miss Maggie flips the switch to turn on the tree lights at town hall.

  • 2:30 p.m. — Follow Santa to Town Hall p.m.
  • 3 — 6 p.m. — Pictures with Santa
  • 6 p.m. — Tree Lighting at Town Hall
