There are plenty of 4th of July events around the region, but Canton, as in previous years, will keep the party going with its July 4th plus 1 celebration.

The celebration, which will be held on Friday, July 5, will begin at 6 p.m. at Sorrells Street Park in downtown Canton, and will feature music, food vendors, and, as always, free watermelon, courtesy of former Mayor Mike Ray and his wife Sherry.

In addition, there will be free inflatables, courtesy of Dutch Cove Baptist Church, and the evening will end the evening with a spectacular fireworks display provided by Champion Credit Union. Bring a chair or blanket and come enjoy this family friendly community event. All are welcome.
