Haywood County Recreation will be hosting a bike rodeo on Saturday, May 11 from 3-5 p.m. on Brook Street behind the Folkmoot Center.

The event will be held in conjunction with Strive Not to Drive Open Streets event from 3 – 8 p.m. Safety checks will begin at 2:45 p.m. to teach young riders how to properly inspect a bike, fit a helmet and pump tires if needed. Free helmets and lights will be given away to all registrants. While registering, participants can enter a raffle to win a bike of their size (must be present to win raffle). For more information contact Ian Smith at or call 828-452-6789.
