Skating Rinks, bowling alleys, and laser tag arenas are all closed, but movie theaters are still open. Waynesville's movie theater, Smoky Mountain Cinema, is open and showing movies for families to enjoy.

The theater, located at 235 Waynesville Plaza, is currently showing The Little Things, starring Denzel Washington and Rami Malek and The Marksman, starring Liam Neeson.

The Little Things will be showing at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, and again at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30-31.

In the film The Little Things, Deke (Denzel Washington), a burnt-out Kern County, CA deputy sheriff teams up with Baxter (Rami Malek), a crack LASD detective, to nab a serial killer. Deke's nose for the "little things" proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past.

The Marksman is playing at 4:15 and 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, and again at 1:15, 4:15 and 7:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30-31.

The Marksman is an action/thriller staring Liam Neeson is about Jim, a former Marine who lives a solitary life as a rancher along the Arizona-Mexican border. But his peaceful existence soon comes crashing down when he tries to protect a boy on the run from members of a vicious cartel.

In addition to showing movies, Smoky Mountain Cinema is offering movie theater rentals to celebrate birthdays or any kind of parties, open to as many as 60 guests at a time.
