LAKE JUNALUSKA — The bell on the grounds of Lake Junaluska will toll 108 times on Friday, June 25, to honor the 108th anniversary of the conference and retreat center.
Members of the public can take turns ringing the bell, with the event kicking off at 11:30 a.m. at the the Weatherby Bell, located on on the lawn between Stuart Auditorium and the Harrell Center.
Ken Howle, Lake Junakuska executive director, will offer words of welcome and celebration and the public is invited to enjoy lemonade as they visit with friends and help ring the bell 108 times in celebration of 108 years of ministry.
A selfie station will be set up for photos. Snap a selfie and upload it to your Facebook or Instagram account with a message about why the Lake is an important place in your life with the hashtag #lakejday2021.
The bell ringing will also be live-streamed via Facebook.
The day will kick-off at 8 a.m. with a via Facebook Live prayer. The public is invited to offer up their prayers for Lake Junaluska in the comments section of the livestream.
