FAIRVIEW — A Star Party geared for kids and families will be held at at 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Cane Creek Pool.

The program includes a special space-themed storytime with songs, dance and puppets — followed by a presentation about the night sky with astronomer Hary Lazich from Asheville Museum of Science.

It's one of dozens of Star Party's being held across the state as part of theNC Science Festival. The program is hosted by Buncombe County Public Libraries, Buncombe County Parks and Recreation, and the Asheville Museum of Science.

Attendees must wear a mask and observe social distancing. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
