WAYNESVILLE — The WNC Button Club will host the Appalachian Button Jamboree from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa.

The free event will feature buttons for collectors, military enthusiasts, quilters, fiber artists, jewelers and crafters — along with a variety of other vintage sewing items.

There will also be a display of antique and vintage buttons through the ages and other accessories for sale. Kids can buy from a 'poke' of fun buttons.

Button collecting has a long history and was recognized as an organized hobby through the founding of the National Button Society in 1938. The WNC Button Club has 15 members.
