DILLSBORO — It's not to late to plan a custom creation for the famous Dillsboro Easter Hat Parade, now in it's 31st year.

Anyone with an Easter hat, bonnet, cap, helmet, turban or head apparel of your choice is invited to walk in the parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3. Spectating from the sidelines to see all the creations is equally as fun. The town of Dillsboro is only two long blocks so the parade doesn’t last a long time.

A host of prizes are given out for "the best" or "the most" fill-in-the-blank. The categories are ever changing based on the hats that judges see before them, but will no doubt include the largest, smallest, most outrageous, best use of fresh flowers, hat that traveled the farthest, youngest and, of course, best dog. The Easter Bunny can be found around town for photos.

Registration for the parade starts at 11 a.m. Get there at least an hour early if you plan to walk the route.
