ASHEVILLE — Sip and stroll through the gardens of the N.C. Arboretum during the glow of the golden hour while being serenaded to live music during Arbor Evenings.

Arbor Evenings are held from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays through September. Beverages are available for purchase onsite, along with delicious food from the Bent Creek Bistro.

Live music is provided by a rotating cast of WNC talent on the event lawn outside the Baker Visitor Center. The musicians this week are:

• July 15: Liz & Elizabeth (Folk/Americana) will play from 5:30-6:45 p.m. & Red Echo Lab (Pop/Soul/Jazz) will play from 7:15-8:30 p.m.

• July 16: Kevin Williams (Country/Americana) will play from 5:30-6:45 p.m. & Steve Newbrough (Classical/Fingerstyle Guitar) will play from 7:15-8:30 p.m.

Food orders during Arbor Evenings must be placed online ahead of time — up until 11 a.m. on the date you plan to attend — and can be picked up at the Baker Information Desk between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. To pre-order food, click here.

Drinks do not have to be ordered ahead of time. You can bring in your own food for a picnic, but no outside alcoholic drinks are allowed.

Entry to the Arboretum costs $16 per vehicle. For more information, click here.
