FINES CREEK — It’s ramp season, and that means ramp dinners, with the first one of the year coming up this Saturday, April 24, at the Fines Creek Community Center at 4 p.m Saturday, April 24.
Ramps are a native Southern Appalachian leek used for seasoning, with a strong flavor that’s a cross between garlic and onion.
The menu includes ramp meatloaf, ramp fried potatoes, eggs & ramps, pinto beans, corn bread dessert and a drink — all for $8. Meals can be picked up to go. If weather cooperates, tables will be set up for onsite eating as well.
Proceeds support the Fines Creek Community Association to support scholarships and community needs. Cost is $8, with children four and under free with paying adult.
Located at 190 Fines Creek Rd, Clyde. Take I-40 west to exit 15, turn right and go three miles. For more info, click here.
