Is it possible that it’s too early to be in the Oktoberfest spirit? The answer is “Nein.” Highland Brewing is gearing up for the release of Clawhammer, its beloved Märzen lager, and that means a party is afoot — from noon - 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9.

Come out for a day of stein hoists, pretzels, sausages, stein-making (sign-up ahead for this one) and, of course, great beer.

What better way to get yourself in the Oktoberfest mood than by making your own stein at Highland’s Clawhammer release party?

Highland Brewing is teaming up with B. C. Studios for a pottery class from 6 – 8 p.m., during the release party, that will result in one’s very own handmade beer stein. Students will be walked through constructing and decorating their own ceramic beer stein from ceramic slabs.

After the class, the mugs will be taken to BC studios to be fired and glazed and then fired again in the kiln. The mugs will be returned to the brewery in 2 - 4 weeks for pickup. An email will be sent out when they are ready.

This class is $30 and requires pre-registration. To register, visit www.eventbrite.com/e/beer-stein-making-class-tickets-65012501141.

Prost, y’all!
