Highland's Cold Mountain Winter Ale in the Meadow

ENJOY A LEGEND — Highland Brewing’s legendary Cold Mountain Winter Ale celebrates its 25th anniversary, with a weekend of events Nov. 11 – 15. Event tickets and beer pre-orders are on sale now.

Highland Brewing, Asheville’s pioneer craft brewery, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Cold Mountain Winter Ale, with a weekend of events and special beers, Nov. 11-15.

Highland Brewing brewed Cold Mountain Winter Ale as a holiday treat in 1996. It became legendary — 25 years later, this brew is a cherished tradition in Asheville and the surrounding region.

To celebrate Cold Mountain’s silver anniversary, Highland will hold release events at both of its taprooms, special Cold Mountain variants and Cold Mountain packaged beer available for pre-order.

Events

• Thursday, Nov. 11 — Cold Mountain Beer Dinner

Highland’s Event Center will be transformed for this exclusive ticketed dinner. This seated, coursed meal features Cold Mountain beer pairings and the first chance to purchase Cold Mountain packaged beers.

• Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 – 13 — Celebration Sessions

To join Highland at the brewery for Cold Mountain Release weekend, guests must purchase an access pass online for a designated Celebration Session.

Noon - 4 p.m., Day Celebration Session: $10 per person. Children 5 and under are free. Children must remain with their parents at all times and be seated at their designated tables. Access pass does not include packaged beer.

6 -10 p.m., Night Celebration Session: $10 per person. Limited to guests 21+ only; no exceptions. Access pass does not include packaged beer.

• Sunday, Nov. 14 — Celebration Session at Brewery and Small Bites at Downtown Taproom. One Session at the Brewery on Sunday to allow for a special Downtown Taproom Event.

Noon - 4 p.m., Day Celebration Session: $10 per person. Children 5 and under are free. Children must remain with their parents at all times and be seated at their designated tables. Access pass does not include packaged beer.

5 - 9 p.m. Downtown Taproom - Cold Mountain Flights, Pints and Small Bites Event: $70 per person plus tax and service. Limited to guests 21+ only.

At this event, guests will indulge their senses with a culinary tour of the Highland Brewing Downtown Taproom and the S&W Market. This casual, ticketed event features a curated small plate from all five S&W Market food partners plus a Cold Mountain flight — or two pints of your favorite Highland Brewing beer. Additional draft beer and take-home beer are available for purchase.

• Monday, Nov. 15 — No Access Pass required.

A full day’s allotment of all three packages plus Cold Mountain styles a la carte will be available.

Cold Mountain Styles

This year, Highland is celebrating Cold Mountain’s silver anniversary with a limited release of Super Spice Cold Mountain in package. Daily allotments of three packages (Holiday, Cheer and Anniversary Packs) are available for pre-order online. Pick up is available at the Brewery taproom Nov. 12-15. Please note: $10 access passes are required for pickup at the Brewery Friday, Nov.12 – Sunday, Nov. 14. No access pass is required on Monday, Nov. 15.

Additional allotments of a la carte Cold Mountain styles will be available onsite each day at the Brewery as well as the Downtown Taproom.
