BRYSON CITY — The Carolina Shine experience on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad has launched for the season, serving up triple-distilled, craft moonshine from local distilleries in the special all-adult car.
The first-class car has been decked out just for the excursion — featuring copper-lined walls filled with the history of moonshining in North Carolina, including Swain County’s very own Major Redmond, the most famous mountain moonshine outlaw of the 19th century.
Sample tastings of flavors like Apple Pie, Blackberry, Blueberry, Cherry, Peach, and Strawberry moonshine, along with Moonshine infused cocktails like Copper Cola or Moonshiner’s Mimosa available for purchase.
A BBQ lunch is served on the ride. The trips are based out of the railroad’s Bryson City depot Wednesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tickets are $119. Click here for more info.
