ASHEVILLE — A two-day cornhole tournament featuring more than 200 pro players in the cornhole circuit — including a televised championship round — will be held June 11-12 Harrah's Cherokee Center-Asheville.

The American Cornhole League's Pro Shootout is free for spectators. Asheville is one of the eight cities to host a pro shootout this summer.

Mostly known as backyard or tailgating game, cornhole is one of the fasting growing competitive sports in the country, and the American Cornhole League is one of the fastest growing sports leagues in the nation.

Western North Carolina is home to two professional American Cornhole League players: Danny Williams from Hendersonville and Tyler Stephenson from Clyde. Williams and Stephenson are the 64th ranked pro doubles team in the American Cornhole League.

“It's going to be great to be able to compete with the best cornhole players in the world right here in my own backyard,” said Stephenson. “I've enjoyed being able to go many different places all over the nation to play, but to have an ACL Pro event in our local area is awesome.”

The championship round will be broadcasted live on the CBS Sports Network from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 12, from 6pm-8pm ET.

The event is free to attend, but guests are encouraged to preregister for a chance to win prizes, gift cards, and more. To get free tickets, click here.
