FOREST CITY — A two-day festival named for a favorite local moonshine kicks off with a free concert by Acoustic Syndicate Friday, June 18, followed by a street fair and more live music on Saturday, June 19.
Named after moonshiner Amos Owens' corn whiskey-based "Cherry Bounce" moonshine, the Cherry Bounce Festival features meet-and-greets with moonshiners, bluegrass/Americana music, regional artists and street vendors, food trucks and cherry-inspired items by local restaurants and businesses.
Here’s the highlights:
• A free concert by Acoustic Syndicate will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 18.
• Festival hours on Saturday, June 19, are 10 a.m.-7 p.m., with vendors, moonshiners meet-and-greets monnshiners Patti Bryan and David Parker, and food trucks.
• Live music on Saturday includes Anya Hinkle & Tellico at 1 p.m.; Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road at 3 p.m.; and Wiregrass at 5 p.m.
