BAKERSVILLE — The two-day N.C. Rhododendron Festival is jam packed with action, from a pageant and classic car show to square dancing and craft vendors.
The festival runs June 18-19 with several locations around the small town of Bakersville.
The Rhododendron Craft Fair is held along the banks of Cane Creek, which winds through the center of Bakersville. The Craft Fair includes artists, food vendors, children’s activities and live music throughout the day.
The Rhododendron Square Dance — one of the largest square dances in WNC — will be held on Main Street in down Bakersville starting at 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday nights. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.
Meanwhile, young ladies compete in a Rhododendron Festival Pageant over the course of two days.
A Classic Car Show is held in the Quality Plus parking lot from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, with over 100 cars of all makes and models. $2 admission for adults.
