Plant sale

On Saturday, Sept. 14, the Botanical Gardens will hold its annual Fall Plant and Rummage Sale. Free parking is available onsite and nearby. Come out to 151 W.T. Weaver Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shinw.

The BGA and local plant vendors will offer a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers for fall planting. BGA members get a 10 percent discount on BGA-grown plants sold at the gazebo. Other vendors include Carolina Native Nursery, Colonial Acres Nursery, the Men’s Garden Club of Asheville, Mountain Mist Nursery, Red Root Native Nursery, Sandy Mush Herb Nursery, Saturnia Farm, June Wilbanks, and Wildbud Natives, all of whom contribute a portion of their sales to the BGA.

The BGA's special plant offerings this fall will include Carolina Spinypod (Matelea carolinensis), Spikenard (Aralia racemosa), Carolina Rose (Rosa carolinensis), Small's Beardtongue (Penstemon smallii), Downy Skullcap (Scutellaria incana), and Maryland Golden Aster (Chrysopsis mariana).

The Rummage Sale will offer books, vintage vinyl, art prints, tools, and many one-of-a-kind treasures, priced to sell. The Botanical Gardens receives no city, state or federal funds. All our funding comes from memberships, donations, gift shop sales and the fall and spring plant sales. Come support the Gardens and add some treasures to your garden.
