BACK FROM THE BRINK — In 2020, there were 16 known nesting sites of peregrine falcons in WNC.

ASHEVILLE — Dive into the fascinating world of peregrine falcons with a Blue Ridge Parkway ranger at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at the Folk Art Center along the Parkway in Asheville.

Peregrine falcons are one of the largest, most powerful, and fastest falcon species. Learn how this predator of the sky was lost and has now returned to its original aerial hunting grounds in the WNC mountains.

The talk is part of weekly outdoor series held every Friday evening this summer at the Folk Art Center.

The program will be held outdoors, so bring a blanket or chair. No restrooms will be available.
