HAYWOOD COUNTY — WNC is home to the largest peony farm in the state, and it opens its grounds to the public every May for the Festival of Peonies.
Wildcat Ridge Farm is located on the bank of the Pigeon River in the rural countryside of Haywood County. It specializes in growing, propagating and selling the dozens of varieties of peonies — including heirloom and hard to get varieties.
It's free to visit, stroll the peony collection and enjoy a picnic along the river bank.
Open to the public during the month of May from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
